Martha O'Bryan Center Launches New
Tied Together Pilot Program March 29

Tied Together works to build parent's self-confidence to build strong families.

Tied Together is a program that gives new parents from the Cayce Homes and surrounding east Nashville the skills and modeling they need to raise healthy families. It is designed to be a multi-age, long-term program that will follow families throughout their children's formative years.

The program will increase parents' confidence in their ability to be their children's best teachers, raise parental understanding of how children develop, equip parents with non-violent and positive ways to discipline, teach parents how to make informed decisions regarding family planning, and increase the awareness of financial planning and independence.

Parents in our community love their children, but they often lack positive parenting role models and have difficulty processing the array of basic needs issues they are faced with as first-time, low-income parents. It is our desire to use this program to replicate the child-centered messages taught in our Early Childhood and Youth Development programs.
