Seven weeks, seven continentsa world of learning and opportunity awaits.
June 9 - July 25
This year we are giving our youth a “Passport to Anywhere.”
Campers will literally and figuratively travel outside the confines of the city’s most at-risk, low-income neighborhood and experience a world full of history, culture, adventure and possibility. Each week of Summer Camp, participants will explore a different corner of the worldmixing academic enrichment, reading, physical fitness, field trips and community service opportunities. Summer Camp at Martha O’Bryan Center can change a young person’s view of his or her talents, potential and the world around them.
A premier highlight of Summer Camp 2008 is a partnership between Martha O’Bryan Center and Junior Achievement to provide our youth with real-world business and leadership experience. Elementary students will engage in the “Dollars and $ense” program, middle school will participate in “It’s My Business,” while high school students will hone their entrepreneurial skills in the “Company Program.”
Programming for Summer Camp 2008 lasts 7 weeks from June 9 to July 25 and is open for 120 school-aged youth. The Center’s cost per child to attend camp free of charge is $750what a small investment for an experience that will realize tremendous gains for their future. I ask you to invest in our youth this summer and give them a Camp experience they’ll never forget.
P.S. - With your support, our youth increase self-esteem, set goals for their future, develop leadership skills, stay on track for the upcoming school year, and have a rewarding summer experience. Thank You!
| Each week campers travel to a new continent, explore different countries, learn new cultures, and conclude the week engaging in an exciting new activity that builds on what they learned. |
