Martha O'Bryan Center launches healthy food plan
A new initiative will make it easier for the Martha O'Bryan Center to serve its families in and around Cayce Place, neighborhoods that are considered food deserts. Since there are no supermarkets in the area and nearby convenience stores offer little or no fresh produce, Martha O'Bryan Center plans to use its bus to transport families to area grocery stores twice a week. During one trip, residents will be able to shop at Kroger, Aldi, Goodwill and Dollar General, all adjacent to each other on Gallatin Avenue.
