Martha O'Bryan Center emergency food bank open 9-6
The emergency food bank at the Martha O'Bryan Center is open from 9-6 today, May 5. Second Harvest of Middle Tennessee made an extra delivery here yesterday, so there is a good supply of pre-boxed pantry staples. Anyone who needs an emergency food box can pick one up at 711 South Seventh Street with just a name and an address. Since Cayce Place didn't suffer much flood damage the need here hasn't been great. Call the center if anyone needs a box delivered. We may be able to accommodate.
One Martha O'Bryan Center program affected by the Nashville flood disaster is Meals on Wheels. Several volunteers are taking care of their own flood-damaged homes, so the Center has been scrambling to deliver 100+ hot meals each day to homebound clients. If anyone can volunteer, please call Volunteer Coordinator Judy Gaither or Meals on Wheels coordinator Jennifer Milam, at 254-1791.
Thank you for supporting the Martha O'Bryan Center.
UPDATED MAY 6: The emergency food bank has returned to normal hours, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
