Volunteer
We would love for you to join us for a tour of our facility, an overview of our mission and programs and a discussion of ways a volunteer can get involved. Volunteers are essential to our ministry.

Service Opportunities
Some of the current volunteer opportunities for individuals and groups are:
- READ Program Coordinator and Assistants: Work with youth ages 6-18 to improve literacy skills. This is a great opportunity to promote literacy and build relationships with youth who participate in the Center's after school program.
- Meals on Wheels Deliverers: Deliver meals once a month to elderly and disabled residents living in the vicinity of the Martha O'Bryan Center. Delivery takes less than an hour and can be completed during your lunch break.
- Readers: Read to preschoolers between 8:30 to 11:00 a.m. and 3 to 5:00 p.m. once a week for an hour. This position requires a background check and fingerprinting.
- Event volunteers: Help coordinate events, especially Purity Miss Martha's Ice Cream Crankin' in June.
- Kids Café Servers: Every Monday, groups are needed to serve the children in the neighborhood a hot evening meal at the Center. Volunteers are needed each Monday from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. to help with set up, serving and clean up.
- Other Group Projects: Other group projects can be organized throughout the year on an as needed basis. Projects such as landscaping facility grounds, cleaning, welcome basket assembly or special programs for the preschool classrooms.
Of course we always welcome new talents and ideas. If you have an idea of a way in which you or your group would like to be involved, please let us know. Contact Judy Gaither, Volunteer Manager at (615) 254-1791.
